Positive Vibes is a Namibian registered trust that has been operating nationally since 2008 and in the SADC region since 2012. The organization currently employs 25 staff and has a functioning network of some 100 consultants operating at the community level or at the regional level.
Positive Vibes has two offices. The main office is located in Windhoek, Namibia. This office is responsible for the SADC operations but also runs some national programmes as well support functions for the operation. The northern office, that is located in Ongwediwa in North Central Namibia, specializes in PHDP for PLHIV and ALHIV in the northern regions, including Zambezi as well as Kavango East and West.
Positive Vibes’ main area of expertise is capacity development. Fifteen different participatory methods, aligned to the organization’s Freireian philosophy, are used to build capacity in CBOs, NGOs and networks. From 2009 to the present, some 70,000 people have been reached with our approaches.
Positive Vibes is a member of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, based in Brighton, UK. As a linking organization (LO) PV forms an integral part of this CSO alliance, which spans some 40 countries across the globe.
Regionally, Positive Vibes is a member of the DiDiRi group (Diversity, Dignity and Rights) alliance along with ARASA, HIVOS and COC.
In Namibia Positive Vibes are members of the Mutual Action in Development (MAD) Alliance in Namibia, which includes Lifeline/Childline, Society for Family Health, Catholic AIDS Action, Nawalife Trust, Ombetja Yehinga, PharmAccess Namibia and NAPPA among its members. Further strategic partnerships exist with Africa Groups of Sweden, OSISA and UNAIDS.
